A New Chapter in AI Innovation: MARC and Farbe Partnership
MARC and Farbe Technologies Private Limited signed an agreement for joint AI research, awareness programmes and commercialization.
On the 23rd of June 2026, an agreement was signed between the Multi-disciplinary AI Research Centre of University of Peradeniya and Farbe Technologies Private Limited at the senate premises of the University of Peradeniya. This partnership establishes a framework for collaboration aimed at achieving mutual benefits for both organizations and contributing to the country’s development.
The primary focus of this collaboration is to conduct joint research in multidisciplinary Artificial Intelligence, while also working together to deliver AI awareness programs for school and university students across Sri Lanka. Additionally, the agreement aims to facilitate the commercialization of research through technology licensing, with the potential for further areas of cooperation to be added by mutual consent. Through this initiative, we are prioritizing the creation of robust Intellectual Property and sustainable commercialization pathways to bridge the gap between academic innovation and industry application.
